Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 September 2026

These terms apply to your use of Train of Thought (trainofthought.io and, later, the Train of Thought apps). Please read them. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

Train of Thought is run by Dalpha - Media
Westergracht 1, Haarlem, the Netherlands
KvK (Chamber of Commerce) number: 80971083
Email: info@trainofthought.io

2. The service

Train of Thought is a focus app. You start a focus session, and a train travels across a real map for that time until you arrive at a real station. The service is currently free.

We’re a small, independent project, so we may add, change or remove features. If we plan to end the service entirely, we’ll tell account holders in advance where reasonably possible.

3. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old. If you’re between 13 and 15, you may only use Train of Thought with permission from a parent or guardian.

4. Your account

5. Acceptable use

Don’t:

6. Ending your use

You can stop using Train of Thought at any time. To delete your account, email info@trainofthought.io (see the Privacy Policy). A delete button in the app will follow.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable, we’ll warn you first and tell you why.

7. Our content and data sources

The app, its design, texts and code belong to Dalpha - Media. You may use them only to use the service as intended.

Station and map data come from:

8. Liability

We provide Train of Thought “as is”. We do our best to keep it running and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. Journeys and stations are for motivation, not travel planning.

To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect damage or for loss of data, such as lost focus-session history. Because the service is free, our total liability to you is limited to €100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The new version will be published here with a new “Last updated” date, and for significant changes we’ll also email account holders. If you keep using the service after a change, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account.

10. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes go to the competent court in the district of Noord-Holland (Rechtbank Noord-Holland). If you’re a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live.

The European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform was discontinued in July 2025. If you have a complaint, just email us first at info@trainofthought.io.
